Monthly Reflection for December 2017

Advent and Christmas is a good time to pause to reflect and to think. We come to the end of another year, we come to another Christmas, we come with all the different things going on in our own personal lives and we come with all the things going on in the world - a world that very much is filled with uncertainty.

However, we come to a God who is trustworthy and we come to one who we can have total confidence in. We celebrate the wonderful truth in this season that God is Immanuel: God is with us.

We should never forget the significance and powerful impact this truth has and I want to encourage us to think about what that means for your life at this moment in time.

God is with us:

·        He is our light

·        He is our joy

·        He is our peace

·        He is our hope

·        He is the way the truth and the life

·        He is our Saviour

We could think of so many more wonderful descriptions of what it means for God to be with us, and over the weeks leading up to Christmas Day we will reflect upon a series (both in our Sunday services and at our Advent Bible Studies) entitled Coming of the Saviour.

We will reflect upon what it meant for Jesus to come all those years ago and also what it means for our life today.

"I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10)

My prayer for us all this Christmas season is that we would experience the wonderful life and presence of Jesus with us, take comfort from His promises to us, and move forward together into a New Year knowing that God is with us at all times and in all places.

Wishing you all a very happy Christmas and with every blessing for 2018,

Love from Matt, Natasha, Anais and Noah
